Indira, the panther

The Story of Indira, the Panther

Indira was born one summer night in a beautiful
tropical forest in India. Unlike other black panthers,
Indira suffered greatly from loneliness. In the dense jungle, she
never encountered other panthers, and the animals she encountered would flee
at the sight of her, so afraid were they of being eaten.

Her only pleasure was listening to the sounds of
the forest: the song of birds, the creaking of branches, the rustling
of leaves, the cries of monkeys, or even those of rare birds. Sometimes
she heard the trumpeting of an elephant or the roar of a tiger.
Thus, her daily wanderings were punctuated by these magnificent
exotic sounds.

One day, Indira heard a very
different sound, one she had never heard before. It was a
haunting, sweet melody. She couldn't help but approach it, and this new
sound led her to the edge of the forest.

There, she saw a little girl alone,
playing a beautiful instrument she called a sitar. Dazzled, Indira
approached and stayed near her. Surprisingly, the little girl was not afraid.

From that day on, Indira and the little girl
were never alone again. The little girl played constantly to please
Indira, and Indira, proud to have such an extraordinary new friend,
watched over her and protected her from all dangers.
